Bio
Xinyuan Wang is the third prize winner of the 2018 Leeds International Piano Competition.

Chinese pianist Xinyan Wang was born in 1995 and began his musical education at the age of 10 with Professor Yan Wang at the Sichuan Conservatory in Southern China. A year later he won the prestigious XingHaiBei National Competition in China, and at 12 he was placed second in the 71st Steinway National competition in China. In 2008, he was awarded the Yamaha Youth Talent Scholarship and in 2009 won 1st prize in the 73th Steinway national competition. When he was 16, he began his studies with professor Alicja Kledzik at Ign Jana Paderewski Academy of Music in Poznan, Poland. In February 2012 he was awarded First Prize at the Polish Youth Talent competition in Kraków, Poland. In the same year he also successfully passed into the 2nd stage in the 17th International Leeds Piano Competition. Since 2014 he has been studying at the the Franz Liszt University in Weimar under professors Peter Waas and Bálazs Szokolay. In the year 2018 he attended for the second time the world’s most prestigious Leeds International Piano Competition and finally he not only got the third prize but also the “Medici.tv „best audience prize, in which Xinyuan will have the great opportunity to be live streamed in his upcoming recital in the famous Wigmore Hall on the 11th of December, 2019. Recently he has successfully given three concerts in China and in the future will continue to spread his career internationally.
